Yes! We offer free shipping on retail orders over $125 within Canada and the continental United States. No customs or duty fees are charged.

How does alpaca fibre regulate temperature so effectively?
Alpaca fibre has microscopic air pockets that provide natural insulation. These pockets trap warmth in cold weather and release heat when it’s warm, ensuring consistent comfort year-round. It’s also breathable and moisture-wicking, preventing overheating and keeping you dry in any season.
Is alpaca fibre itchy?
Alpaca fibre should never be itchy and if it is, it hasn't been processed properly. All of our alpaca products are soft to the touch.
Can I wear alpaca products in the summer?
Yes, you can wear alpaca in the summer because it's breathable, lightweight, and moisture-wicking. While alpaca keeps you warm in the winter months, it is just as good at keeping you comfortable and dry during warmer weather activities.
Can I wear alpaca products in the rain?
Alpaca products are water-resistant and able to absorb up to 30% of their weight in water, making them ideal for rainy or snowy weather. The moisture is wicked away before it can be absorbed, remaining on top of the fibre without making it wet. This means that it takes awhile before an alpaca garment becomes saturated.
Why is there so much colour variation in natural alpaca fibre?
Alpaca fibre comes in 22 colours and 250 shades. The core collection of the colours we use is white, fawn, brown, grey and black.
Are alpacas harmed in the shearing process?
No! Each Spring, alpacas are shorn for their annual hair cut. Alpacas are domesticated animals and the shearing process is completely natural for them. The animals are notably more comfortable afterwards.

Can I visit your store in person?
Yes! We’d love to welcome you to our store at 5509 Hwy. 9, Harriston, Ontario. Visit us Tuesday to Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM to explore our collections in person.
Can I visit the alpacas?
Unfortunately, we are a working mill and aren't raising any alpacas. There are two local farms that welcome visitors: Andre's Alpacas in Hanover and DL Alpacas in Bruce County.
Are alpaca products environmentally friendly?

How can I change my order?

Can I return my alpaca product for a refund?

What if my item arrives damaged or defective?
If your item arrives damaged or defective, please contact us at store@alpacatime.ca within 15 days of receiving your shipment. We’ll work with you to resolve the issue promptly.
